END OF YEAR FREEBIE

I can't believe I am even saying this... but I only have 3 more days with my students. It's all such a bittersweet feeling. Every year I give my students an EOY gift and this year I decided to share my love of coloring with this FREE resource!

I just love coloring (who doesn't?!) and this is a simple and really cheap way to give your students something to remember you by. I added some fun stackable crayons from the Target party section to each booklet, too. They come in packs of 8 for only $3 each! Here's a closer look at the coloring pages included:

So fun, right?! If you would like to share this resource with your own students, feel free to head over to my store by clicking this link and downloading it for FREE! Happy summer, teacher friends!

READING AND WRITING PARTNERSHIPS

My school implements the Lucy Calkins Units of Study. During our reading and writing workshop, students are placed into partnerships. It takes some training but it is so wonderful to watch partnerships listen to and respect one another's work. They are there to help try out new strategies learned in a mini lesson and there when their story just isn't working out so they could use some advice. I was tired of saying, "Okay, partner 1 share with partner 2." It wasn't engaging and made it all sound very robotic. So... I made this!

Every child (and teacher) LOVES food, so I thought about making my partnerships into food combinations we all are familiar with. Now I say, "Okay burgers, share with the fries" or "Okay cookies, it's your turn to listen to the milks."

I change out our reading and writing partnerships every 9 weeks (4 times a year) so we keep everything new and exciting. My product has 10 different food combinations which should last you all year! Click the link to see a closer look at this in my store.

CHICKEN LIFE CYCLE

Hi, friends! Today we focused on the life cycle of a chicken. And, being the literacy lover that I am, we combined reading, writing, and science with these fun flip books.

What I love MOST about these books is how interactive they are. Each page opens up with nonfiction text and comprehension questions.

I love any opportunity to make literacy a focus in other subjects. These little cuties worked perfectly with that. There are several different kinds of questions. Some multiple choice, extended response, and even some labeling. The back of the book has spots for the children to recreate the life cycle, and how cute is this guys?!

Want to use this in your classroom? Click this link and it'll take you straight to my store :)
